ICMEI and AAFT School of Hospitality & Tourism Present Cuisines from Timor-Leste at 11th Global Literary Festival Noida 2025

Noida, 2nd October 2025: The International Chamber of Media and Entertainment Industry (ICMEI) and the AAFT School of Hospitality and Tourism proudly presented the Cuisines from Timor-Leste during the 11th Global Literary Festival Noida 2025, held at Marwah Studios, Film City Noida. The unique culinary showcase brought the authentic flavors and cultural richness of Timor-Leste to the Indian audience, creating a beautiful bridge of taste, tradition, and friendship.

The event was graced by H.E. Karlito Nunes, Ambassador of Timor-Leste to India, who inaugurated the special food segment under the banner of the Indo Timor-Leste Film and Cultural Forum. The occasion celebrated the growing cultural collaboration between India and Timor-Leste through art, cuisine, and creative exchange.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Sandeep Marwah, President of Marwah Studios and the Festival, said, “Food is one of the most powerful mediums of cultural diplomacy. Through initiatives like these, we not only introduce the world to diverse cuisines but also strengthen our global friendships. The flavors of Timor-Leste beautifully express the warmth and simplicity of its people.”

H.E. Karlito Nunes, while addressing the gathering, shared, “We are delighted to see Timor-Leste’s cuisine featured at this international platform. It is through such initiatives that nations come closer and people understand each other’s cultures in the most delightful way — through food.”

The audience, which included international delegates, writers, filmmakers, and students, enjoyed traditional dishes from Timor-Leste, applauding the efforts of AAFT’s hospitality students for recreating authentic flavors. The event further strengthened the cultural partnership between India and Timor-Leste, reaffirming ICMEI’s commitment to promoting art, culture, and international cooperation.
